He then remained in NY to complete his postgraduate internship and residency training in orthopedic surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he was named Chief Orthopedic Surgery Resident. Dr. Mathews completed his fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, specializing in adult lower extremity knee and hip reconstruction.
