Originally from New England, Susan Kent was born and raised in Newport, Rhode Island - the perfect canvas to instil and build up those high expectations. Growing up on a beautiful, historic island surrounded by cliffs and oceans, where magnificent mansions of the most wealthy and elite families chose to live and summer, and where for many years the yachting world flocked to annually for the prestigious America’s Cup Sailing Regattas, the idyllic backdrop of beauty and easy-living was the norm. Susan, however, did not just frolic the beaches, growing up due to a grounded upbringing by wonderful parents and a close family – all of them extremely hardworking. An alumna of the University of Rhode Island and Delta Zeta Sorority, she moved to Virginia Beach in 1989. Although born a ‘Yankee’, she firmly established roots in VB and considers this her home.
