Chances are, I've had some experience with the issues you have. Here's my professional history. I took a job as an orderly in a nursing home when I was 18yo and in college studying psychology in 1972. I loved the job, and especially hearing people's stories - some were born in the 1800's! After college, I moved to Boston and got a job at the McLean Hospital, which is the psychiatry teaching hospital for Harvard University. I worked there for over 7 years, from being a Child Care Worker in their new Children's hospital, to becoming a licensed Registered Nurse, and working on the psychiatry research untits, where new psychiatric medicines were being developed and tested.
