Retina Center of Ohio Dr Suber S. Huang

Dr. Huang specializes in medical and surgical diseases of the retina. His expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, complications of eye surgery, vein occlusion, macular pucker, macular hole, retinopathy of prematurity, trauma, genetic syndromes, and ocular inflammation. He is available for new patient visits, emergencies, consultations, retina surgery, and second opinion evaluations. Dr. Huang’s experience includes the Vice-Chair and Director of Ophthalmology Clinical Research at Case Western Reserve University, Director of the Center for Retina and Macular Disease at University Hospitals Eye Institute, Presidencies of the Cleveland Ophthalmological Society, the Foundation of the ASRS, and the American Society of Retina Specialists. He is an internationally-recognized lecturer, Chair of the National Eye Health Education program of the National Eye Institute/NIH, Associate Secretariat/Chair of the Research, Regulatory, and External Scientific Affairs committee of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and founder of the Retinal Disease Image Analysis Reading Center and the ASRS Retina Image Bank. Dr. Huang’s numerous awards include the Senior honor awards from the AAO and ASRS, CWRU Attending of the Year, 2013 National Leadership Award from the National Diversity Council, Person of the Year, Cleveland Sight Center, CWRU Humanism in Medicine award, and has been listed as Cleveland and America’s Top Docs since 2003.
