Paulo Marcelo Gondim Sales

Dr. Sales graduated with a Medical Doctor (M.D.) from Universidade Federal do Ceará and a Master's in Science (M.S.) from Universidade Federal do Ceará. He developed an innovative animal model of catatonia using electromagnetic stimulation. After practicing in Brazil, he pursued psychiatry and joined a residency program at the SUNY Health Sciences Center in Brooklyn. He later became a fellow in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Brown University, where he became a subspecialist in the complex interface between multi-system medical conditions and psychiatry. Before joining Alabama Psychiatry, he was an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr.
