Kevin Johnston, AGPC-NP

Kevin Johnston, started a little later in healthcare than many others. He grew up on Long Island and worked in the world of manufacturing for over 20 years. In his 40’s he became a volunteer firefighter as a way of giving back to the community. He was injured in a fire and required a prolonged rehabilitation. It was during this time that he decided to change his focus and go into nursing. He applied to, and graduated from, Suffolk Community College with his RN in 2014, then earned his BSN from Adelphi in 2015. Kevin worked in multiple nursing homes, learning more about chronic disease, wound management, and primary care. He found that he loved taking care of his patients and learning more about diseases and healing.
