Dr. Peter Learn MD

Dr. Peter Learn is a specialty care physician board certified in surgery with a sub-specialization in complex surgical oncology. He joined Inova Health System in 2022 as Chief of the Division of Surgical. Dr. Learn’s clinical areas of interest focus on the surgical treatment of cancers of the pancreas, bile ducts, intestines and stomach; cancers and benign conditions of the liver; neuroendocrine tumors of the gastrointestinal tract; soft-tissue sarcomas; and melanoma. He centers his practice around a commitment to ensuring that patients achieve a good understanding of their diagnosis, the role of surgery in their multidisciplinary treatment plans, potential alternatives to consider, and what changes to expect after surgery.
