DEBORAH MORRIS-HARRIS

As a childhood asthmatic, I spent many hours in emergency rooms and doctors' offices. I witnessed firsthand the fragmented care faced by uninsured and underinsured patients in my diverse community. My parents’ faith inspired them to work for a better future for me and our community, instilling in me a lens of hope and servant leadership.

I studied comparative biology at Tulane University and pursued neurobiology at Yale. After graduate school, I attended Harvard Medical School and completed a residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.

I view medicine as my calling; primary care is my passion because it combines restoration, education, counseling, and advocacy.
