In 1981, Brown Packing Co., Inc. began rendering at the site of its Gaffney, SC beef harvest plant. In 2001, the company put a new rendering plant online, built to serve the rendering needs for its own harvest facility's inedible product and other harvest facilities. In 2002, the company began collecting and recycling used cooking oil from area restaurants and food service establishments, and Allied Renewal was born.
